Art (noun)

예술 

명사 기예와 학술을 아울러 이르는 말.

명사 특별한 재료, 기교, 양식 따위로 감상의 대상이 되는 아름다움을 표현하려는 인간의 활동 및 그 작품. 공간 예술, 시간 예술, 종합 예술 따위로 나눌 수 있다.

명사 아름답고 높은 경지에 이른 숙련된 기술을 비유적으로 이르는 말.

We seek various beauties in our daily lives. Moments that we don’t want to miss in our daily routines are captured and cherished through writing, photos, videos, sounds, and more. Each individual shares different emotions and experiences, forming subjective evaluations.

우리는 일상생활에서 다양한 아름다움을 추구한다. 일상에서 놓치고 싶지 않은 순간을 글과 사진, 영상, 소리등으로 기록하고 간직한다. 각각의 개인이 서로 다른 감정과 경험을 공유하며 각자 주관정인 평가를 내린다. 

In specific cultures and social contexts, certain artworks may hold higher value, while the opposite can also be true. Aesthetic sensibilities and technical excellence vary according to individual standards. The changing times can alter the value of artworks, leading to different interpretations of the artist and their creations.

특정 문화, 사회적 맥락 속에서 어떤 작품은 더 높은 가치를 가지기도 하고 그 반대의 경우도 존재 할 것이다. 미적인 감각과 기술적인 완성도 또한 개인의 평가 기준에 따라 달라진다. 시대의 변화도 작품의 가치를 변화 시키며 작가와 작품에 전혀 다른 해석을 내놓기도 한다. 

There is no right answer in the pursuit of beauty. Although memorized information for exams and content covered in famous books and broadcasts can aid in understanding art, they cannot complete an individual’s final evaluation and emotions.

아름다움을 찾는 방법에는 정답이 없다. 시험을 위해서 암기한 내용들, 유명한 책과 방송에서 다루는 내용들은 분명 예술을 이해하는데 도움이 되기는 하지만 개인의 마지막 평가와 감정을 완성할 수는 없다. 

As the author, I lack scholarly knowledge of art as an academic discipline—probably to a great extent. However, I love design and engage in artistic activities, contemplating beauty and originality every day. In this blog, I aim to discuss very personal beauty found in everyday life, sometimes beauty that aligns with broader societal aesthetic standards, and even the aesthetics present in things that may not be universally considered beautiful, all in a light and expansive manner.

필자는 학문으로서의 예술에 대한 학술적 지식이 부족하다. 아마도 매우 부족하다. 다만 디자인을 좋아하고 작품활동을 하면서 아름다움과 독창성에 대해 매일 고민한다. 이 블로그에서는 일상생활에서 찾는 지극히 개인적인 아름다움, 때로는 사회 전반적인 미적기준에 부합하는 아름다움, 또는 일반적으로 아름답다고 느껴지지 않는 것들에서 찾을 수 있는 미에 대해 가벼우면서 광범위하게 이야기 하고자 한다.
